The Ministry of Interior has completed its preparations to participate in organizing and securing the Abu Dhabi Cycling World Tour, which is organized by the Abu Dhabi Sport Council (ADSC) between Thursday, October 8 and Sunday, October 11

Brigadier Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, at the Ministry of Interior, said: “The Ministry of Interior strives diligently to raise the level of security and safety during the different occasions and events and establishing the necessary plans. This reflects the ministry’s keenness to achieve the highest international standards in organizing and securing events, especially in light of the increasing interest in Abu Dhabi as the preferred choice to host such activities.

Brigadier Al Dhaheri explained that the Abu Dhabi Tour, which is made up of four stages, will achieve a significant qualitative leap for the future of the sports industry in the UAE and the region; especially for the cycling sport in the UAE.

The Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development, represented by the Sports Activity Section, had recently held a preparatory meeting to finalize preparations leading up to the Abu Dhabi Tour. The meeting was attended by participants from more than 13 police departments at the Ministry of Interior, along with representatives from the Abu Dhabi Sport Council (ADSC) and the Italian organizer “RCS Sport”. The meeting was intended to identify and commission tasks between the participating police departments, and included a detailed explanation on the three-day Tour and its various stages.

It is worth mentioning that the capital Abu Dhabi will host the inaugural Cycling World Tour for professionals from 8 – 11 October 2015, which is organized by the Abu Dhabi Sport Council (ADSC). The race will feature participations of some of the biggest names and cycling teams in the world; the best and most unique stage of the race will be the final stage on Yas Circuit on Sunday October 11
