The first phase of the Abu Dubai emirate’s Security Zone championships concluded today. The championships are organized by the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of the Interior, in cooperation with the Police Sports Association. More than 500 competitors participate in the various tournaments.

The Western Region Police ranked first in the road race for men and in seven-a side football. The Operations Department at the Directorate General of Central Operations won first place in the fitness and challenge championship.

The Clubs Department in Al Ain came in second place and the Al Ain Police came in third place in seven a side football.  The Operations Department came second place in the road race, while the Special Tasks Department came third. In the fitness and challenge championship, the Western Region Police came second and the Department of Transport at Abu Dhabi Police came third.

Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General at the Ministry of Interior, commended the efforts of those in charge of sports, praising their role in achieving sporting achievements. “The leadership is keen to support athletes, with the view of achieving honorable results,” he underlined.

Colonel Yasser Al Aryani, Director of the Falaj Hazza Police Station, honored the winners in the individual and team championships that took place in Al Ain. It is noteworthy that the second phase of the championship will continue with the scheduled competitions taking place in the Western Region. The competitions will end in the capital of Abu Dhabi at the end of this month.
