The Khalifa Student Empowerment Program ‘Aqdar’ took part in the ninth edition of Al Dhafra Camel Festival 2015. The festival is organized by the the Cultural Programs and Heritage Festivals Committee – Abu Dhabi (CPHFC) in Madinat Zayed in the Western Region.
Major Saqr Al Ahbabi from the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program ‘Aqdar’, Supervisor of the program’s pavilion at the Al Dhafra Festival 2015, explained that the Program took part in the festival since the official inauguration on December 20. “This participation aimed at acquainting students, parents and teachers with the program, its strategic objectives and the purposeful societal initiatives,” he noted.
Additionally, Major Al Ahbabi underlined that the attention and follow-up dedicated by the higher leadership to the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program ‘Aqdar’ contribute to unify national awareness and preventive efforts related to the youth. “These efforts contribute to nurture future generations of conscious students, capable of facing the challenges of the present and the future,” he continued.
Adding further, Major Al Ahbabi said: “The festival has become a special opportunity and a renewed annual meeting for the people of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). It aims to preserve the cultural heritage of the UAE and to protect the legacy of Emirati traditions. The event also gives visitors the opportunity to explore the desert while enjoying the authenticity of Emirati customs and traditions.” In conclusion, Major Al Ahbabi emphasized that the festival serves as a platform to introduce community-based initiatives and educate generations. He also indicated that a specialized team supervised the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program ‘Aqdar’ pavilion to acquaint visitors with the program and provide them with awareness-raising and informational brochures.
