The Ministry Interior has examined the activation of the role of the community policing at the state level, at a meeting convened by the Specialized Coordinating Committee of the community policing at the level of the Ministry of Interior, headed by Lt Colonel Mubarak bin Meheroum, Director of Community Police Department at Abu Dhabi Police.

The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Community Police, was attended by representatives of the community police units at the police headquarters across the different emirates.

The Committee reviewed the experience of community policing  in Abu Dhabi Police, and the results reached through the field practice, and method of applying them in the different communities of Abu Dhabi bearing in mind the their different nature methods to deal with them, a part from  how to benefit from them. 

The committee has come up with a number of recommendations that emphasize the need to activate the role of community policing in all police headquarters in the country.

One of the main recommendations reached by the Committee was to develop an integrated strategy to activate community policing in the other emirates, which will be submitted to Bin Meheroum, Chairman of the Committee, prior to presenting them  to the Committee members at the next meeting, where they  will be discussed and appropriate decisions will be made on them.

The Committee endorsed the annual training plan in coordination with the Institute for Community Policing and Police Sciences and the Training Department at the Ministry of the Interior; to train employees at other departments and police headquarters at the different emirates , and to define the achievements in order to discuss and study  their pros.

The meeting was the first one for the current year 2012, and was attended by 13 members of various police headquarters in the state.

The next meeting will be held in February.
